Cushion Cover with Marie-Antoinette's Monogram

This woven cushion cover is suitable for large cushions not more than 45 cm wide. It is closed by a zip. The back of the cushion is in cotton. We recommend only dry cleaning.

Its very flowery pattern features the cursive monogram of Marie-Antoinette which is found in particular on her travel bags. It also evokes the gardens of Marie-Antoinette's estate where she retired to escape from the rigid Court etiquette. This cushion cover was woven on a Jacquard loom, a weaving loom developed in 1801 by Joseph Marie Jacquard.

This machine weaves with needles, perforated cards and a cylinder. The perforated cards guide the needles in producing complex patterns.
