"Marie-Antoinette's Blue Monogram" Embroidery Kit

The initials M and A of this kit are to be embroidered in "Saint-Cyr" stitch with shades of blue. The "Saint-Cyr" or "petit-point" stitch consists of embroidering the canvas with a single stitch with diagonal rising or descending stitches. The kit contains a hand-painted canvas, a gold-plated needle, Aubusson wool and instructions.

The letters to be embroidered represent the cursive monogram of Marie-Antoinette, present on many objects in her travel bag. Other monograms of the queen can be seen in the rooms of the Petit Trianon.
