Farandole cushion cover

This woven, zippered cushion cover fits large square cushions no bigger than 45 cm on each side. The back is made of cotton. We recommend dry cleaning only. The motif features Marie-Antoinette's cursive monogram, found on her overnight bag and the drawings of prints based on the 'Gravure de Mode' collection published by the Réunion des Musées Nationaux.

This cover was made woven on a Jacquard loom, which Joseph Marie Jacquard invented in 1801. Weaving on this machine is done with needles, perforated cards and a cylinder. The perforated cards help guide the needles in the making of complex motifs.
